Canon Firmware Update

For you Canon users out there, Canon has recently announced a firmware update for the new EOS-1D MarkIII. That is a mouthful. If you say that is. This update is supposed to fix problems in dial operation, the look of images when played on the LCD monitor and it will reduce the tendency to autofocus on the background in certain situations. The latter has been the big complaint among users. You can find the update here.

Even without this update this seems to be another winner from Canon. A pretty awesome machine if you ask me. Even though I am in the Nikon camp, I'm not afraid to say so. I don't buy into that brand bashing just because it's not the manufacturer I use. Canon makes some outstanding equipment. I would love to get my hands on one to test it out. We will see what Nikon has up there sleeve. There are rumors flying that an announcement is coming toward the end of August. Most likely the next in the evolution of the D2X. Maybe a D3 or D3X.
