Lens Rental Options

I know you will agree that everyone loves "fast glass". This typically means any lens with an aperture of f2.8 or faster and usually throughout the entire focal range. For example the Nikon 70-200VR f2.8. Click here for more info on this lens. This lens cost's about $1500 new. Pretty steep huh? So what if you want to use fast glass but can't afford it. Do you settle on the quality? Well, there are some great new services that let you rent these expensive "pro" lenses at a very reasonably rate. Here are two that I know of.

The first one is called ZipLens and the other is Lensprotogo. Both these companies offer a great service for lens rentals and have any easy ordering interface online. They ship the lens right to you, provide you a return shipping label and you ship it back in the same box. All of this is included in the rental rate. I think that's slick. It couldn't be easier and they have all the professional lenses in stock that you could want. So are you shooting an upcoming wedding or event and don't want to spend the money on expensive lenses? Try them out. If you have used one of these services, let me what you think.

Talk to you tomorrow!
